Advanced Manufacturing Supply Chain Initiative

The Advanced Manufacturing Supply Chain Initiative (AMSCI) was announced on 6 December 2011 and opened on the 29 March 2012. It is a competition for funding to improve the global competitiveness of advanced manufacturing supply chains as well as attracting new manufacturers to be based in the UK. Up to £125M is available to support innovative projects that deliver economic growth.

Funding will be available to support projects in:

  • The purchase of capital equipment
  • R&D activity which improves manufacturing equipment, systems or processes;
  • and
  • specific training and skills development to support the project.

There is a national element of the competition which consists of a £100m funding pot, known as Stream 1. Stream 1 has two rounds. Round 1 closed on 13 June and Round 2 will close on 12th September 2012.
